Houseboat life in Canada

I am moving to Canada soon with my lovely and playful dog, Max. I am considering a houseboat and interested to learn how mooring works out there. Do you rent a slip, own a dock or is there any option to stay in public areas long-term?

I think it would depend on where you plan to dock. All 3 options are available, so it's up to you to decide. One thing to note is that public areas usually don't allow long term stay, so you might be better off considering renting a slip or buying a property. If you go for the marina option, check if they're pet friendly.
